Nicholas Jerry "Nick" Jonas was born September 16, 1992 in Dallas, Texas. He is a singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known for the Jonas Brothers pop-rock band he formed with his brothers Kevin and Joe. He also has a younger brother Frankie who can be seen in their Disney Show J.O.N.A.S. In this show they are teens in a band, and it suits them well.
Nicholas Jonas grew up in New Jersey. Nicholas and his brothers were encouraged to play musical instruments by their parents. At around age six, Nicholas was discovered by a talent agency and began performing on Broadway.
At the tender age of 12, on the merits of his composition "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)" which was featured on the 2002 charity album Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, Vol. 4, Nicholas had gotten a record deal with INO and Columbia.
Nick Jonas was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2005, and began wearing an insulin pump to help control the illness. He has been an active ambassador of sorts to help promote a cure for the disease, as well as educate people about the disease. He also takes an interest in kids with diabetes. He has had to change his lifestyle a bit, mostly his dietary needs. He is doing well with keeping it under control.
Nicholas like his brothers is very religious and wears a purity ring on his left ring finger to signify that he is saving himself for marriage. The music is clean and fun and the band is adored by teens and parents alike. They are a very wholesome family. He says for him there can only truly be happiness through Christ.
Nicholas Jonas is a perfectionist and has had to learn to be more laid back about things. He realizes that everything cannot always be perfect, but he strives for
perfection anyway. He is very aware of how he performs, and often critiques his own performances. He is much attuned to his fans.
Nicholas Jonas loves the New York Yankees and watches every game, and if he has to miss a game he TiVo's it. His favorite baseball player is Derek Jeter. His favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys (which he gets teased about because of where he was brought up). His favorite sport though is golf. He likes golf because it is slow paced and fun.
Nicholas Jonas has some hobbies that he is passionate about like music, songwriting, baseball, collecting baseball cards, tennis, and golf. His favorite things include science and geology. His favorite school subject is spelling. His favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. His favorite movie is Juno and his favorite song is "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. His favorite foods are steak and cotton candy ice-cream. His favorite color is blue.
